Flair Airlines, the Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier is heading to Cancun (CUN) and Los Cabos (SJD) in Mexico with fares as low as $109 one-way.

“Starting in February, Canadians will enjoy affordable, sunny winter getaways to Cancun and Los Cabos without breaking the bank… “We can’t wait to get our customers to the beach,” said Flair’s Chief Commercial Officer, Garth Lund.

Starting this weekend, Los Cabos will operate a weekly flight (on Saturdays) to Abbotsford (YXX), Edmonton (YEG), and Vancouver (YVR).

Cancun will also have a weekly flight (Saturdays), to Kitchener-Waterloo (YKF) and Ottawa (YOW).

All the routes will be served on Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-8 aircraft.

“Expanding to Mexico is part of Flair’s exciting growth strategy and we’re very happy to be launching service there. Canadians are tired of the ice and snow, and our affordable fares will help make it possible to take a trip,” said Lund.

Limited one-way fares and seats will start at $109 including taxes and fees as well as other options and services passengers can choose.

“With one-way fares starting at $109, we’re making it easier than ever for Canadians to chase the sun in Mexico.”

For some reason, Los Cabos is not always at the top of the minds of Canadian travelers. Perhaps, it’s because not everyone is aware that Los Cabos is home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and resorts, as well as award-winning restaurants, and world-class golf courses.

It also boasts an average of 350 sunny days each year, with temperatures hovering around 32°C (90°F) between May and October with low humidity.

Rodrigo Esponda, the Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, is delighted by the news.

According to Esponda, Canada is one of their “priority markets”.

“We are so pleased to see the growth of the interest of Canadian airlines in bringing access from new Canadian cities to Los Cabos.”

“With multiple certifications and strict protocol in place, Los Cabos has and continues to be a safe and attractive destination for those that choose to travel abroad,” he said.

On the other hand, Cancun does not need an introduction. But given that it has suffered from some criminal activity in recent months, the government has created the Tourist Security Battalion to ensure the safety of all visitors.
